MEET CRAYON

Your partner in delivering financial wellbeing that lives up to your employee value proposition

About us

Crayon helps New Zealand employers build genuine financial wellbeing for their people.

Financial wellbeing works like physical health: it requires daily habits and expert support during critical moments. We build core money skills across your team and provide specialised support through life's transitions. And because finances are often not a solo sport, employees can invite their partner or support person to participate too.

Our vision

Create a world where people worry less about money so that they can focus on the people and passions most important to them.

Our mission

Partner with employers to build financial confidence across their teams, removing a significant barrier that keeps people from being at their best, at work and beyond.

Our values

Action over information

Financial wellbeing isn't just about knowing more - it's about doing something different. We help people turn knowledge into action through practical tools and hands-on coaching.

Meet people where they are

Life transitions create powerful moments for change. We deliver support that's relevant, timely, and tailored to where people actually are in their journey.

Integrity

We do what we say we'll do, we're honest about what we're good at and what we don't know, and we treat every employee's situation with care and confidentiality.

Independence

We don't sell products or earn commissions. Our only interest is helping your people make better financial decisions.

Meet our founder: Stephanie Pow

Finance has been my career love for 20 years, from starting on a trading floor at 18 to earning the University Medal in Finance from UNSW and studying at Wharton and Harvard.

But despite all that training, I wasn't prepared for the financial realities of having my first child. I really had no excuses. I could (and should) have been much better prepared. And I figured I probably wasn't the only one.

That's why I founded Crayon, and why we work through employers. As an employer, you provide your people with paycheques, and we help them use them well. When financial blockers are removed, everyone benefits: employees do their best work, and employers see the impact in engagement, focus, and retention.

We started with parental leave - building the NZ Parental Leave Register and delivering coaching to expecting parents - because it's a moment when financial stress hits hard, and guidance can make a big difference.

But parenthood is just one of life's big transitions where financial stress is acute. Today, we partner with leading NZ employers to deliver financial wellbeing programs that drive real confidence and lasting change.
